Seeking a welcoming place where they could study Torah and prepare lessons, both Dodi and Avigail spoke of the need for a Beit Midrash for women and a permanent home for Matan in Beit Shemesh. Their vision is now being realized.
The Matan Beit Shemesh Beit Midrash will not only eternalize the memory of Avigail and Dodi and keep their Torah alive, it will also help shape the landscape of women’s Torah learning in Beit Shemesh for future generations.
For many years Matan Beit Shemesh was led by Dr. Dodi Tobin z”l, its director, and Rabbanit Dr. Avigail Rock z”l, both brilliant and beloved teachers of Torah.
Week after week, year after year, women flocked to hear words of Torah from Avigail and Dodi. Together, these inspirational women helped make a significant impact on the world of women’s learning in Beit Shemesh, throughout Israel and beyond.
